Despite refilling the AdBlue fluid, the dashboard continued to display the countdown timer and AdBlue warning. Our Audi technician suspected a possible problem with the Engine Management System (EMS) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).
The client also informed our technician that they had previously taken their vehicle to an Audi dealer. During this visit the dealer recommended a different component as the cause of the problem and performed a software update. Unfortunately, the repair did not fix the issue.

The Diagnostic Procedure

Meanwhile, the outgoing signal relates to the treated exhaust gas that has gone through the SCR system. If the system is working correctly, it should remove pollutants by converting them into harmless nitrogen and water vapour.
During the inspection, our Audi expert detected a deviation in the signals and opted to examine the maintenance records from the prior garage. This is a simple technique that can sometimes help to speed up the diagnostic procedure, but regrettably, it did not provide any answers in this specific situation.
